The first Internet Superhero
Pete Collins, or PC to his family and friends, is a weird kid.
He has a short cropped red hair, and pasty white skin. He gets sunburnt easily, so he spends most of his time indoors. His eyes are affected by bright light, so he always wears a pair of round sunglasses. Because of this he spends most of his time in his darkened room, tinkering with banks of computers. Thousands of spare parts are scattered everywhere. He sits at his computer for hours into the night, surfing the web and downloading stuff. He eats chips constantly so he is a little fat. Basically PC is the total computer geek. PC’s main means of communication is through email and texting on his mobile. He constantly emails and texts all his school mates. One of his mates is Webber Boyle.
Webber Boyle is a very different kid.
He loves all sports, learning and all computer stuff. He has an athletic build, and is good looking. Though not a best mate, Webber keeps in contact with PC because of his interest in computers and the internet.
One night, as Webber was sending an email to PC, a powerful electric storm raged outside. At the very instant Webber’s pointer pressed the send button, a lightning bolt hit nearby telephone cables. With a blinding flash and a shower of sparks...Webber disappeared.
Next day PC noticed a new folder on his desktop. It was entitled “Web. Boy.”. PC clicked on the folder. A window appeared. It showed an empty room. Squatting in the corner was a figure PC vaguely recognised. The figure’s head was in it’s hands.
“Who are you?” enquired PC. The head looked up.
“Webber!”
“Yes it’s me.”
“What’s happened?”
“I’ve been turned into an electronic being PC. Webber Boyle no longer exists.”
PC sat there stunned. He stared at the “Web. Boy.” file. After a long silence he said...
“But Web Boy does!”
Web Boy is an electronic super hero, who lives on the Net, fighting Trojans, viruses, worms, and other internet monsters.
